Friday 1st March 2024
Year 5/6 - Friday 1st March 2024
We hope that you had a lovely half-term and are looking forward to a fun-filled, busy half-term.
This week Year 5 have been working hard investigating fractions and decimals. Year 6 have been reading and interpreting tables, graphs and pie charts. They have also been designing Viking boats in DT and have begun exploring debates that use persuasive language in English.
World Book Day
Just a reminder that World Book Day is on Thursday 7th March. To promote reading within our school community, for this day the children can bring in a favourite book from home which they can share with the other children in their class.
They can also bring in a prop that serves as a clue to their favourite book/character or come dressed up as a favourite character too if they so wish. On this day all the children will also receive a £1 World Book Day voucher!
Spellingframe
Spellings this week have been set and are Year 5/6 words, - eq to f. Children should have their logins and know how to find them. Next Friday (8.3.24), the children will be assessed on these.
Homework
Homework has been set on Google Classroom; due by Wednesday, please.
Y6 arithmetic papers should take no more than 30 minutes to complete as we are attempting to encourage the children to pace themselves in alignment with their upcoming SATs.
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend, see you next Monday!
Mrs Witherall, Mrs Devlin, Miss Sharman and Miss Nottage.
